A keyword has two meanings depending on the point of view of the user or the web page administrator.
A keyword is the searched word which a user enters into a search engine.
At the same time, an administrator can add such keywords to the meta tags of the web page or the file to help search engines to find this information.
The keywords were an important part of the former search engine optimization. Due to misuse of keywords (see keyword stuffing), stand-alone keywords in the text or in the metatext are today ignored by some search engines and other tools became more important in SEO.
